Celebrating Our First Six Months of Hosting
About four years ago, our dear neighbor and the former owner of this property asked us if we were interested in purchasing the home. Of course we were. Whether he knew it or not, we’d had our eye on it since moving next door back in 2017. The land was lovely and the house had great bones with potential for us to either give our STR dream a try, and/or migrate our growing family to eventually. But, life had its funny way of letting us and our neighbor know that it the timing wasn’t quite right.
Fast-forward to 2023, the timing still didn’t feel perfect for us if we’re being honest. However, our neighbor needed to let go of the property and graciously brought the offer back to us before placing it on the market.
Thanks to Adam’s Real Estate license, the generous partnership with his parents, and loyal industry partners on the ready, we were able to complete all inspections and secure the sale in time to begin renovating in September. Over the next very intense six months, we were able to fully flip the interior and exterior entirely on our own and just in time for what would prove to be a busy Spring season.
For us, this house is more than a vacation rental. It’s a place for our own family to stay when they come to visit, an outlet for creative expression and continued skill-sharpening, the beginning of an exciting new family business, and an effort to preserve the home and its natural surroundings.
For our guests, The Woodland Ramble is a place to spend quality time together with space to spread out, an escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown without being too far away, a moment to relax, a chance to stretch their legs, an invitation to reminisce, and an introduction to our local community.
Throughout our time living next door, we had the pleasure of spending time with and getting to know the former (and original) owners of this home, hearing countless stories of their family’s time here. As the new caretakers, our goal is to provide a space that fosters many more years of memories for anyone who spends time here.
Our goal as hosts of The Woodland Ramble is for everyone to enjoy quality time together in a place that feels like a true home away from home.
To celebrate one year since beginning this project and our first six months of hosting, we will be sharing an in-depth look at the renovation process over the coming days. Room by room, we’ll dive into the before-and-after detail and share some DIY How-To’s. And, we’ll be sure to link supplies, tools, furnishings, and more along the way. Be sure to follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss out on a single transformation!
Here’s a quick preview to get us started!
